Sunday Nursery | Sunday Mornings at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.
Loving arms and calming voices await our youngest disciples. Through care, stories, and music, they will begin to learn that church is a place where they can learn of God’s love for them.
Preschool Sunday School | Sundays at 10:00 a.m.
Our Preschool (3 years through TK) children engage in their very own in-class rotations in Room 5, which follow the same Bible stories as their elementary school friends. Our classes are led by caring and wonderful teachers and include music, art, snack creation, drama and games. Join us as we lead our youngest disciples as they encounter God’s Word for the first time!
Elementary Sunday School | Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Room 205/206
Spark Rotation Sunday School is our amazing program for our elementary (K-5) disciples! Each week, beginning on September 10, we will meet in room 205/206 for a gathering time together. Then we will divide into class groups to rotate through different workshops. Our workshops will include music, service projects, art, cooking, drama and games. Our young disciples are divided into groups based on grade levels, led by shepherds who are with them all year and know them each by name as they rotate through all their classes together. Join us as we explore God’s word and put it into action together! If you have any questions, you may contact Katie Harrington by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Elementary Fellowship Opportunities
Once a month, all of our elementary youth gather together for a time of fun and fellowship. Designed for our kids to connect with one another and with God, we play games, make crafts, and have a snack together. We meet in the Education Hall from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
Zone45 is for our fourth and fifth grade students. This is a fellowship group that meets on Sunday once a month for fun activities and service projects. This special time of fellowship is designed with our ‘tweeners’ in mind. If you have any questions, you may contact Katie Harrington by emailing email@example.com.
Children's Choir | Wednesdays at 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Singing in a children's choir is one of the first opportunities a child has to serve God in the church. This choir is planned for children in Kindergarten - 5th grade. The young singers learn to develop a foundation in singing in an ensemble, scripture through song, and what it means to offer songs of praise in worship. Reading music is reinforced through playing chimes, rhythmic instruments, and relevant games. The Children's Choir sings once a month at the 11:00 a.m. worship service from October through May. Contact Kaitlyn Davros to enter your child into the children's choir: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sardis Music & Arts Summer Hoopla
In the summer, Sardis' children's choir camp (for rising 2nd - 6th graders) includes recreation time, creating art and props, and exciting musical rehearsals for a musical we prepare to present in Sunday worship. Contact Kaitlyn Davros for more information: email@example.com.
Sardis Weekday School invites you to experience a program that embraces the child as one of God's most complex creations. We offer a program that stimulates the intellect, challenges the body, fills the spirit, and above all, loves the child. A ministry of Sardis Presbyterian Church since 1954, the heart of our program is a staff that strives each day to introduce our children to the joy of learning, the warmth of sharing, and the thrill of accomplishment. Sardis Presbyterian Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational or admissions policies. We invite you and your child to visit our school and experience our program. To arrange a visit, contact the school at 704-366-9681 or email our director, Elizabeth Angerson. For more information you can also visit their website at www.sardisweekdayschool.org.
Vacation Bible School
Children ages 3 - 5th grade are invited to our VBS, held one week in the summer (Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - noon). At VBS, we use music, science, crafts, recreation, and Bible stories to help kids (and leaders) discover their strength in God. We also have a service project. VBS registration begins in May.
Our children participate in a number of service projects throughout the year, such as collecting school supplies for Rama Road Elementary, collecting non-perishables for Loaves & Fishes, creating cards for Levine Children's Hospital, and having a role in Give One Day (a family community service project to help end hunger), visiting residents of Plantation Estates, and more!
Other Children's Opportunities
Children's programs occur throughout the year, including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, an Easter egg hunt, a family fall festival, basketball teams and summer camp, and Christmas musical.
