Alexander Youth Network
AYN is an agency that empowers children and families to recover from severe emotional and behavioral challenges. The Sardis congregation is encouraged to save soup labels and box tops to support AYN's programs.

Allegro Foundation
Allegro currently conducts an after school program for children with disabilities in Sardis’s Fellowship Hall on Thursday afternoons. Click here for more information.

American Red Cross Blood Drives
Held three times a year, extra hands are needed to greet donors and handle administrative tasks.

Camp Holiday
Sardis is filled with joy and laughter during the summer when Camp Holiday, a day camp for children with Down Syndrome, is hosted on our campus.  Extra loving hands and smiling faces are needed.

Community Link Welcome Baskets
Community Link helps homeless individuals and families go from homelessness to home ownership. We collect items for baskets that are delivered to families when they move into their new homes.

Crisis Assistance Clothing Drives
Clothing is collected at various times of the year. Willing hands are needed to sort and deliver the donations.

CROP Hunger Walk
Join Sardis members walk in this annual walk for hunger each October. Money goes to Loaves and Fishes, Second Harvest Food Bank and Crisis Assistance Ministry.

Charlotte Family Housing
An organization that empowers families to achieve long-term self-sufficiency through shelter, housing, support services and advocacy. Sardis volunteer opportunities consist of meal prep and delivery 3 times per week and overnight volunteers 5 nights per week. We do this for 4 weeks during the year.

Center of Hope Women's Shelter
Sardis volunteers donate and serve lasagna, beans, biscuits and desserts to the Salvation Army Women and Children’s Shelter twice monthly.

Sardis receives this offering on the first Sunday of each month. These funds benefit hunger programs and at-risk-youth programming within our presbytery.

Habitat for Humanity
Sardis works with Habitat for Humanity of Matthews every other year to build a home for a deserving family. All skills are needed–from sandwich preparation to construction.

Loaves & Fishes Food Drives
Three times a year, Sardis enthusiastically supports their efforts by holding a food drive for Loaves and Fishes. In these difficult economic times, the food security that Loaves and Fishes provides to many families is more important than ever.

Planting Seeds of Hope, Partnership with Rama Road Elementary School
Tutors and lunch buddies work with children at Rama Road Elementary. Teaching skills are not required–just encouragement and support. Learn more here.

Presbyterian Psychological Services / Ministry Development Services
Presbyterian Psychological Services is an integrated, interdisciplinary center for psychiatry, psychology, pastoral counseling, and career counseling. All appointments are made through their main office at 704.554.9900. Ministry Development Services is an integrated, interdisciplinary center for ministerial candidate assessments, clergy assessments, clergy/church professional consulting, congregational/church staff/church leadership care, and community education. They have an office on the Sardis campus. All appointments are made through their main office at 704.554.9222.

Room In The Inn
This is a Charlotte Urban Ministry program that provides shelter and meals for our homeless neighbors December through March, Sunday and Wednesday evenings. We have been involved in the program for more than 10 years. Volunteers are needed to provide meals, greet guests, offer fellowship, spend the night and serve breakfast in the morning.

Sardis Garden
Each summer produce from the Sardis Garden, planted near the Scout Hut on Sardis Rd., is grown, gathered, and delivered to local food pantries.  Any gardening interest is encouraged.

Salvation Army Christmas Stockings
Sardis fills stockings with age-appropriate items to be delivered to the Salvation Army each Christmas.

Society of St. Andrew
Gleaning is the Biblical practice of hand-gathering crops left after harvest. Society of St. Andrew volunteers glean fields and orchards donated by growers and then the produce is given to local food banks, pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and distribution agencies that feed the hungry.

Spaghetti Sauce Sunday
Please contribute spaghetti sauce on the first Sunday of each month to benefit our area Loaves and Fishes food pantries. Leave jars in the Narthex (parking lot side), the Education Building (inside entry doors), or the Administration Building (in front of the choir room). Non-breakable plastic jars or cans are preferred.

Urban Ministry Soup Kitchen
Sardis members volunteer to serve soup, sandwiches and salad at the Urban Ministry Center on the last Saturday of each month.

Our Global neighbors become part of our families as we travel to their neighborhoods and bring their love home with us.

Disaster Relief & Repair
Working with the Presbytery of Charlotte Disaster Relief Team as well as other organizations, workers are dispatched to areas such as the Gulf Coast and Appalachia.

Blessings for Bayonnais is supporting school children and a nurse in a remote village.

An ongoing relationship with the Presbytery of East Africa affords support and mission trips to build places of worship for African tribes and to build and support schools and orphanages near Kikuyu.
