I am Mark, the Facilities Director at Sardis since 2013. I serve on the Property Ministry as a staff liaison and am responsible for the church’s physical assets (exterior), such as the approximately 30 acres of land, six buildings, one columbarium, two cemeteries and two 15-passenger buses, (interior) HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security and FFE (furniture, fixture & equipment). I also manage all rentals of church space to outside groups. Supervising the facilities team is another one of my responsibilities. Our team makes sure the campus is clean and maintained, we set-up and tear-down all in-house ministry and community events.
I was born in Florida and raised in the Heart of Dixie-Roll Tide! I moved to North Carolina in 2011 for an opportunity at the new Davidson Day School, Lake Norman Campus. However, Davidson Day School announced they were suspending their plans to build a second campus. But…the Lord had a better plan for me here at Sardis!
My wife, Denise, and I have five children (three girls, two boys) and 13 grandchildren. Fun fact, my wife and I owned/managed a successful plumbing, heating, and air conditioning business for 15 years until I became a private pilot and had a desire to travel.
