Through the summer months, we will be collecting canned and nonperishable food for Nourish Up (formerly Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays). Nourish Up reports that their food needs are greatest during the summer. With school not in session, food challenges for families increase, while donations decrease. To help meet this need, Sardis will be collecting all types of canned goods through-out the summer, with emphasis areas for each month:
June: Canned Meat & Fish
Chicken, Tuna, Salmon
July: Canned Fruit
No sugar added or in juice
August: Canned Vegetables
No salt added or low Sodium
Donations of canned or dry pasta and cereal would also be accepted during this time. We cannot accept food items that are unsealed, expired, loose without listed ingredients, unlabeled, or in glass containers.
